I just assembled a new compuer and everything fits together fine, but it doesn't turn on!

The green light lights up on the motherboard when I flick the switch on the PSU, but when I hit the power button, it just makes a little noise and nothing happens. Please help!

Thanks.

Everything is nice and tight. I did notice though that in my 24 pin cable, in one of the pins the metal is missing. This is a brand new PSU I just bought. Could this missing metal be a problem? Thanks.

i dont think thats right. your sopose to plug the power button to the mobo. it should be in the manual on were to put it.

Yeah I just looked at something and I got 2 wires mixed up. I checked the power button cord and theyre 2 pins, orange and white. I put them in the mobo (where they originally were) in different areas, and still no difference. :(

No, theres no picture in the instruction book or anything, but where it says to put it I see Power Switch on the motherboard and the colors orange and white around where to put it, so I assumed you matched the colors of the cords with the colors on the mobo.

when you installed the mobo, did you make sure to screw in th brass standoffs before putting the mobo in your case?

make sure you have all jumpers and stuff in the right place for the mobo
If not then its most likley your power supply. Maaybey you could try getting another to test it

Yeah, I have all the brass standoffs in place.

nub question but what exactly are the jumpers?

Oh yeah, there is a 6 pin PCI-E cable that I can't find a place to connect too. and since my mobo is a PCI-Express mobo, I think it should go somewhere, but theres nowhere to put it. Could this be the problem? lol The PSU manual says to connect it to the PCI-E graphics card, but this 6 pin cable does NOT have anywhere to go into a graphics card slot or the actual card. What is this!?
