I'm really interested in hardware-related things. I like building and tinkering around with componants. Sometimes I clean out my computer for fun, just to see my temps go down by 1 degree C. I screw around with some software related things in order to get my performance higher. I think I've overclocked my 6800 to its breaking point.
This may be an exaggeration, but I seem to have some type of OCD disorder, where I panic, get anxiety, and other depressing emotions whenever I don't know enough about what I am (or want to) work on. Some people just buy PC parts and make a killer gaming rig, but I'd rather buy medicore PC parts and overclock all of them, figure out the max FSB's and try to get the BEST system possible out of what I have. I think I shoved like 30 hours of research during my christmas break, before I ordered my gaming rig.
I'm a 17 year old junior, and I only have about 1 full year to prepare myself for College or some other type of post highschool education. All the stuff I've gone through in the years with computers breaking down, becoming the "go to" guy for average joe's with a virus on their computer, has made me start thinking about my future.
I heard about DeVry university on TV, and it looks fun and rewarding, except I've researched a little and have fuond they have become increasingly unreliable. Maybe thats why they advertise so much?
Another place thats relativly close is Temple U. in Phillidelphia, but I havn't researched their computer-based courses yet. I don't think its very broad though.
So, is anyone currently in some type of computer training course?
Has anyone finished whatever they needed to learn, and got a job in their computer-related field?
Do you make a lot of money?
I can always get counseling from my school, but first person perspectives usually arent as dull.
On another note, Some dude on Youtube that goes by the name of Maxishine, has like... I dont even know, QX6700, with GTX's in SLI, and one of his videos shows him and his friend with 6 Geforce 8800GTX's, 9 hard drives? Watercooling... 30 inch screen, its crazy. Yet he does something that has to do with burning CD's at home, which is kinda... weird.
