I am cleaning up someone's Windows Vista Operating System for them. About after the first after ten to fifteen minutes after the computer is powered on an error message pops up pictured below:

It is merely annoying but does not interfere with the system operation. The error message states the following: "Could not find the Macromedia Flash"

I've tried to uninstall all the needless programs on this operating system. This has to do with Adobe Flash Media player correct? I tried to search for Macromedia and Flash and cannot find where this program is. There are no programs in the Startup menu. Any ideas?

I checked the Event Viewer and I can't find any error codes related to this minor problem. I also reinstalled the flash player for Internet Explorer and Firefox. It hasn't fixed the problem. This error it baffling me as it keeps appearing every fifteen minutes about.

I ran Spybot and Malwarebytes and both programs say the operating system is clean. Any other ideas?

I'd assume that the flash player doesnt come with the operating system so its got to be some miscellaneous application looking for it. Apparently Adobe bought Macromedia back in late 2005 so the new flash players are the adobe ones not macromedia. If its saying it needs the Macromedia player then its probably some older application. I would try updating any of the older applications that use the flash player and then get the latest Adobe flash player. Had to do some research on that info so that will be $12.95 for my times :-)

Thanks for the help everyone. I found the problem. A screensaver was installed that was attempting to use the flash player. I uninstalled the program and now the problem is gone.
