I plan on going to this computer fair and was wondering if it is worth my time? My plan is to go with a couple hundred dollars in cash and to purchase my parts for my build. Do you really get great deals from these things? It will be a first for me.

I'm not sure if a computer fair is the best place to buy single components, price wise. It's a good place to see new products, get supplier connections if your a resaler, and get some free swag, but you'd be better of going to Newegg to buy individual parts for your machine.

Over in Fresno, we have those, they sell things basically dirt cheap, if your on a low budget computer(not high end) then its perfect, name brand mobos for 30 bucks, cpus 12-80 lol, i was thinking of just going over there just to get flash keys, cause they were selling sndisk 8gb for 5 bucks a piece haha crazy...

But i would only buy from there if you just need low end parts not expensive, cause if they break, good luck returning the parts, ive had pretty bad experiences with sum guys

True. You'll have to dig around to find some good components.

Gotcha. I figured it's booth wars & everyone is trying to get a leg up on the other one just to sell something..

I think I will take your suggestion and buy parts for these two old mid towers I have sitting around just for dangerous internet use (hahah-illegal activities) not so much worried about illegal, but all the things that usually surrounds things like that; hacks, viruses, and horrible death computer tactics.

I wanna get my water cooling system there.!!!

Will you be attending Saturday?

yea, plus you don't usually get a warranty at these places

I figured so. Wouldn't be surprised if reputable Jon Does computer component store went out of business 10 years ago, Joe Blow bought domain names, license rights and business affirmations, then decided to go to conventions under such alias to sell crap components to get a huge turn around.
OR just the mere fact that these small businesses come and go and are hard to reach down the road. .

Thanks for all the input. I'll probably need your guy's help tomorrow or the next day to decide on what I should look for-for my cheap build. :P
