Computer for making music and graphics/web design

Hi,

I'm looking for a good value set up for making music - e.g. using apps like cubase, reason and for using apps like photoshop, illustrator, and Visual Studio.

these things indicate a good sound card (probably get a separate one from company like m-audio). and a good graphics card (recommendations please).

I want a good value set up and I'm happy to modify stuff later.

But what level of ram, processor and graphics card does anyone recommend?

What's the standard screen size now? A good sized flat screen would be good.

Any other recommendations for a computer used for creative stuff as above.

Photoshop etc do NOT require an expensive graphics card. 2D rendering is easy, and done by the CPU. For what you want to be doing a quad core will probably be an advantage as these are CPU intensive applications. Also a lot of RAM is a good idea - 4GB should be good. For photo editing the bigger the better as far as screen size goes. A separate soundcard sounds like a good idea as well. Hope that helps, Doug.
