Computer for Minecraft

Hello,
I plan on building a desktop. I plan on using this as an every day type computer for the internet and some programming. The only game I play is minecraft, which currently on my laptop i can only play it on the lowest settings. For this new computer, I would like to be able to play it on high settings. For Christmas, i was given this for a mother board That is all I have towards this computer however. My maximum price is 800 USD, however I would prefer to be as low as possible. Any suggestions?
Thanks, THT

I, being a minecraft fan, and host for many of my friends, know that minecraft (being a java game) can run on some dang cheap hardware. I told my friend to buy a $50 computer that doesn't even have a graphics card, just some embed Intel software, and with a mod called optifine ( http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-100-optifine-hd-d3-fps-boost-hd-textures/ ) he can play the game at a solid 60 fps. Keep in mind that it comes with a Pentium 4 at 2.1 GHz., which tells you how bad this computer is.

Now, you can look into a better computer, but if minecraft is the only game you ever want to play, look into a extremely budget friendly computer, as with optifine, its easily playable. But, my friend is left in the dust when we go on our three person campaign in borderlands, so keep that in mind if you ever wanna play something beside spider solitaire and minecraft.

Just my opinion, and as obvious a better computer, is well, better. But if that budget is tight, a bad one will do fine.

I would just get a pentium dual-core (like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116399), for just a dual-core that thing is a beast and very friendly as far as power consumption goes (it's got a rated TDP of 65W but in reality the TDP is around 40W or less, it's just artificially inflated to keep it from cannibalising Intel's low-power product lines) and can easily handle Minecraft. 4GB of RAM is plenty as well, you won't even notice (though if you do plan on doing heavier things in the future, the bundle would be quite nice). The 550Ti johnny posted is way overkill, you'll be able to max it out without a problem on pretty much any current ~$50 card, depending on the resolution you are playing at you can probably get away with even less (probably even the integrated graphics that come with the CPU, though I can't say for sure).
