You may want to run a memory diagnostics tool to see if the memory installed has any faults or is simply incompatible with the board there. By switching video cards you ruled out the first card unless both were seeing faults.

ok i just tried using a different monitor but it still freezes...also i had another graphics card so i decided to use it to see if if it will stop the freezing but still froze... so as of now it isnt my windows xp, mouse, keyboard, graphics card, and monitor.

and here is my system

Are you using the Radeon 9550 seen in the information there or the other card you mentioned? If you downloaded the latest catalyst for an older ATI model they won't work. ATI dropped the 9xxx series cards from their support. You may get away with the basic drivers upto the 6.5 version found in the previous drivers and softwares section.

It could also be a bad slot or dust and debris if you haven't blown out the case lately. Another thing to try after giving a can of air cleaner a go would be to reseat the cards to see if they were somehow raised up in the AGP slot there.

I'd agree with the dust part. I remember an video on Youtube just like the problem... Switched GFX's, no do. Cleaned out his slot, bingo...

Otherwise, I'd uninstall and Nvidia drivers you have on there (if there were any)
