Computer Freezes, Restarts, and very Slow!

Hello, I just joined this forum and I'm wondering if anyone can help me. My computer constantly freezes or restarts whenever I'm doing a spyware scan (spybot s&d, SUPERAntiSpyware, etc.) I'll be posting my hijackthis log on here so can anyone help me find out what is wrong and how I can fix my computer? I've even tried to scan my computer in safe mode and the computer still freezes.

Eh? You can see what's running, and they have xp sp2

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

When I clicked on the link that was provided to download combofix.exe the site wasn't available. Relink me please?

*Edit (I rescanned the computer using combofix this time without it freezing. Here's the log):

Hi Ire,

Buzz has asked me to take a look at your problem as he's really pushed for time at the moment. Can you tell me the specifications of your machine please? RAM? HDD size? Processor?

Scan with HijackThis and place a checkmark in the boxes before the following entries:-

*The items highlighted in red are not needed at startup and can be accessed via your Start menu when needed. these of course are optional fixes which may or may not improve matters.

Close all other windows except HijackThis and click the "Fix Checked" button.

Then download Dr.Web CureIt to your desktop:
  • Double-click the drweb-cureit.exe file and allow it to run the express scan.
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, select the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow > to the right and the scan will begin.
  • At the first infection, select 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, click the "Select all/select none" toggle button (if available) next to the files found:
    check.gif
  • Then click the green cup icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
    move.gif

This will move any infected files to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder that can't be cured (in case if we need samples).
  • Then, from the main Dr.Web CureIt menu (top left), click File and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop.
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit and Restart your computer to completely remove any stubborn files in reboot.
  • After the restart, post the contents of the Dr.Web log file.

Thank you for spending a bit of your time to help me. I did everything you told me to do, but the dr cure it scan only completes halfway before my computer freezes. Any other suggestions?

This machine's processor is 2200+ AMD Athlon XP, has 256MB RAM (weak), and 60GB of HD space.

I'll try the scan in safe mode and post up the settings but I doubt I'll have any luck even in safe mode.

If the machine freezes while in safe mode as well, the problem is likely to be hardware related. You may find parts of this troubleshooting guide helpful in diagnosing such a problem.

Did you find anything in the hijack this log that might be suspicious? Here's a recent log so you can check it out. Thanks:

I'm sorry I haven't replied to your last post as soon as I should have but I was on vacation shortly and have just returned.

I recently did a scan again. The computer freezes. It may be my hardware like you said. I also have another problem...I have about 5-6 svhost.exe processes running at the same time on my computer...Is this a problem?
