Computer freezes when playing videos due to latest AMD Catalyst

Hi, I recently installed the latest AMD Catalyst driver (12.11 Beta), everything worked fine until I run videos on youtube or anything similar and videos in my hd with windows media player (although they work with the KMPlayer), when I do that the computer freezes and I can't do anything but restart it by pressing the start button. I uninstalled the driver and tried with the 12.10, but the problem continues. The only solution I found is to uninstall all the drivers, then the videos work, but my screen resolution changes and I can't put it right. Is there any way I can have the drivers installed and watch videos, or at least solve the resolution problem, without installing the latest drivers?

My specs are:
Windows 7 Home premium 64-bits
AMD Athlon II X2 220 precessor 2.80 GHZ
ATI Radeon HD 5450
4GB RAM

Thanks in advance

Do a system restore back to before you even updated to the beta drivers and see if that helps.

Most likely bad driver install and the uninstall wouldn't totally delete all files.

FYI, you shouldn't update drivers unless you are having issues with the current ones. And frankly, I wouldn't install beta drivers unless it fixes an issue you are currently having.

Ok, I did something stupid. No having read your post I though it would be a good idea to try to install AMD Catalyst 12.10 to see what happened, and if something went wrong I'd restore the system. The video issue happened again, so I did the restore, but it didn't allow me, and it turns out the the only restore point I have before installing all the drivers is that, so I can't restore my computer as it was before. Is there any possibility that my computer has some older restoration points?

Thank you in advance again.
