Computer freezes with buzzing noise when gaming

Whenever I play any 3D games, after about 15-20 minutes, my computer will start stuttering accompanied by a buzzing noise through the speakers and then suddenly completely freeze, forcing me to restart. I've tried cleaning it for dust, updating GPU drivers and resetting BIOS settings to default but nothing helps. I don't think it's overheating since I tested it with FurMark and it got hotter than it does when gaming but no buzzing or freezing. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Acer Aspire M5300

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620

RAM: 6,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-20)

Motherboard: Acer FRX780M

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6970

Storage: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FALS-00J7B0 ATA Device (SATA)

PSU: Corsair AX850

It could be a bad GPU. I've had a similar issue when playing graphically demanding games. I ended up getting the whole laptop replaced.

My temps are about 45C at idle and I think about 65-75C at load, but it went over 85C in FurMark without crashing....

You're probably just overheating. I'd advise getting a new CPU cooler or cleaning off the thermal paste, reapplying Arctic Silver 5 or other high quality paste, and reseating the cooler.

I would think to try to clean the HSF and GPU first before buying a aftermarket heatsink?

He mentioned he already cleaned out the dust anyway in the OP.

Yeah i agree, we're jumping to conclusions, this is far from settled because during furmark it doesn't freeze.

What games does it freeze in? Any or some particular ones? You said any, but is that actually the case?

Crank the gpu fans to maximum and see if it still freezes, as I think the GPU may be overheating if anything.

It freezes during any graphics intensive game such as Skyrim, League of Legends etc., flash games and older games don't freeze.

If that's the case then your GPU is probably overheating. As Okey said, manually set your fans at 100 percent and see if it still happens.

Your CPU is still running warm and I'd advise changing paste at the very least as I said before.

Also, what are you GPU temps at load, expecially when it's freezing?

Glad to be helpful.

You should try and improve your case air flow, and extra fan in and out would be good.

Some games I play just freeze to i won a game from steam and now can't play -_-.

Try taking it to a computer shop they can only cost $50-$90 and then u be playing ur game right away.
