This issue started yesterday, I log on and start browsing youtube and myspace and all of the sudden my screen freezes, so im like alright "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" and that does not even pop up, i have to restart my computer by holding my power button everytime it freezes, I have ran CCcleaner and cleaned my registry and all of that stuff, I have my side panel off my case and a fan blowing right on it, I cleaned ALL the dust out of the computer, as well as taking the PSU out and taking its casing off and cleaning it out also. I just updated my video drivers and restarted my computer and it is still freezing, it freezes everytime i am on the web, at any site, it just freezes. i know it cant be a heating issue because i played counter strike 1.6 for a good 3 hours and it never froze one time while playing this. also, my sound is not working through my speakers but will work through my headphones for some odd reason, and I am using a gateway computer and there is a orange light that flashes for some reason too and upon startup my computer sounds like its ticking/scratching, its not that loud but it sounds like one of those older computer trying to load something.

i dont know what my computer specs are if you can tell me where to find them in my computer ill will post them. i dont know what to do, i even did a system restore back to 5 days ago. like i said, my computer was running perfect 2 days ago, i log on yesterday and it starts freezing for no reason.

please help me, im getting really upset. thanks!

Try Glary Utitlities from Major Geek.com and run it. And also download malwarebytes it makes my Dell stop freezing last time.

From what the OP has stated, it sounds more than likely like a hard drive issue, as it appears the drive is clicking, and a hard drive failure would cause random freezing.

Just a thought but computer will not be harm if you try my suggestions, Right. O ya sounds that hard drive is noisy well my other computer sounds like that but I thought it was toasted did replaced it with the same capacity. Then I try to add the old hard drive in again ,it works! I just formatted the old hard drive of mine and back to service.
