Computer freezing on 1 game.. is it PSU?

Heya, ever since i had my custom built computer, i was very happy with it, although when i play 1 specific game ( World of Warcraft), it tends to freeze once in a while (about 1 time per 4-5 hours of play on average). What it does exactly is, just randomly, my screen freezes (you can still see color and just how it was but it just freezes), just like a screen shot, and it stays like that for the next 10 seconds or so, then it just restarts itself.

This does not happen with another game i play for example : Counter-strike, but i know for a fact that counter strike is a less CPU demanding game.. World of warcraft is much more advanced and uses up most of the ram etc.

What i have tired was: replacing the 2 sticks of RAM with 2 different ones, updated all the graphic card drivers.. and putting a different power supply ( but same Wattage), and still the same problem.

My computer specs are as follows:450W Power supply, Quad core CPU @ 2.4 ghz, 3.2GB ram (2 sticks). 320GB western digital (WD3200AAJS-00VWA0). 32 bit windows xp pro. Nvidia GT9500 512mb... if you need any other specs please tell me how to find them.

so do you guys think its the power supply? should i just go ahead and buy a 550W one?

ALSO, With these specs, if i buy DDR3 ram, will it be compatible to work? thanks.

It isn't your PSU. It may be your graphics card... the 9500gt is not a gaming card unless you are at low resolutions like 1024x768.
Have you tried updating updating your video drivers?

your motherboard model number would help if you want us to tell you if you ca use DDR3.

Maybe a driver problem.....or simply it could be just because the 9500GT isnt man enough to play that game and is giving out.

Also check your temps.

As for the DD3 Question,Yes we need to know what motherboard you have.

But why the heck you would want DDR3 ram is beyond me,Its not realy wroth it on a skt 775 system imo and if you game you would realy want to spend the cash on upgrading that graphics card. :)

hey, how do i find out what motherboard i have?, also, like i said, i updated the drivers, its not that. plus no WAY this is too little, no WAY. i used to play the same game on 1 bilion different computers with 128mb dell graphic cards that come pn pentium3 computers. i get 100 FPS when playing the game, ITS very smooth, everything works perfectly, i get no frames lag, it just randmly freezes.

Google CPU-Z and download it. Run it and post what it says in the motherboard tab. that will tell us if you can use DDR3

It could be your hard drive giving out I had a guy come in to my computer shop about 2 weeks ago complaining about his games and windows freezing all the time turned out it was his hard drive(seagate) and I but a new 320GB western digital in it for $50 and it has been working great I called him back Friday and asked him if everything was OK and he said his game was running fine and he hasn't had a freeze up since.
