computer freezing up

alright so this is actually the first time that i have had a problem on my computer i have needed forums for. i have no idea whats going on. ill explain my problem, then post the specs.

after a few minutes of using my computer, it just freezes. everything stops working but the mouse. i can move it around, but nothing will register, not even mouse over animations or anything. it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get this to happen. so far its happened while running runescape, and then skype.

at first i thought maybe it was overheating, so i pulled the side of my case off, and no beans, it did it again. i ran a full virus scan, and it came up with soem stuff, but it was just the normal spyware and such. and it ran for like 8 hours or so doing a full thing of both my hard drives, and it didn't over heat. (this was with the case together)

so i really have no idea what could be causing this. if i can't figure anything out, im tempted to just reload XP. but i would like to avoid that. any ideas? thanks!

2x2 ram

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here, here, here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you continue to experience problems after doing this, please post a HijackThis log by doing the following:

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

it says that no action was taken on most of these, buti went and re-did the scan and removed them

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

alright. i finished running everything you told me. here is the log for combo fix. any chacne this could be a power supply issue?

Rerun hijackthis and place a check next to these entries.

ok, thanks for the help so far. i got rid of those entries, but there is nothing called getplus in my installed programs.

ill see if i can get it to freeze again
 
Look in the event viewer for any signs of issues. There will be 3 sections Security, application, system. look for any errors listed.
 
start --> right click computer --> manage --> event viewer....thats the oonly event viewer i know of...he may be talking about that...those instructions are on vista, they should be similar for xp or windows 7, can't say for sure...
