Computer Freezing

When I leave my computer for awhile and come back, sometimes it has frozen up and I need to turn it off for it to boot again. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Define frozen up? Does it give you the BSoD or just the screen freezes and does nothing?

The screen is black, which I think is what it's set to when it's in standby mode. Sometimes I can clck the mouse to bring up the desktop screen, but other times when I click it has no effect and I have to shut off the computer.

Try to disable the standby mode. If that doesn't work then, post updates for your problem.

I've unselected the screensaver. How do I disable standby mode?
