Computer Freezing

Hey everyone I have a question about something that is wrong with my computer. I recently bought a computer and I am running Windows XP and I am having an issue with a few problems that freeze up on me. Everytime I try to get into Microsoft Publisher, I get a screen that has lines across the screen and then I tried to get into spider solitare and I get in to play it and then 2 minutes into it then the computer goes completely green. I tried ctrl+alt+delete and absolutely no response and then the only way to get out of it is shutting down the computer by pressing the power button. Is there something that I could do to fix this problem or do you guys have any ideas on this? Please let me know.

Also, within this computer I am having an issue of trying to uninstall webroot spy sweeper and I am unable to uninstall it. I am still having the problems with the microsoft publisher freezing as well. Please help me out if you could.
