Computer Froze Now i have Blinking Dots on Screen????

I run computer games etc.... Was on around 1am and my computer screen goes black etc... Go to restart it and i have these tiny pin dots all over my right screen..... 20 dots or so that look like 1/4inch pencil lines going vertical.... Pcs about 4 months old... MTI GeForce 6600. Moniters a 4 year old tell and when I load up a game as well or so i got a faint red/blueish line runnin on the left side down my moniter.... Anyone know what i can do or how to make sure its my moniter not my pc. And no i don't have a 2nd moniter at the house...

:confused: As well the back of my moniter was extremely hot when i turned it off last night.... Also when i resize my moniter with the buttons on my moniter and move the screen the dots move with it....

sounds like the moniter is toast. I had the red gun on one fail and it started doing stuff like that. The only real way to tell is to either hook up a new monitor or hook that one up to another source. Your board doesn't have integrated graphics does it? If you pluggeg it into that and it continued, you would at least know it's not the g-card.

Im gonna take it to a pc store tommarow and have them hook it up to a different moniter. If its not the moniter is it gonna the video card or something alot worse??? Like something in the board/Processor???

Just took a screenshot and the dots still show up. I didn't see them before cause i guess they were blended in.... They Faid in and out....

Also when i scroll down and up on the wepbage the lines like get filled vertical..... But when i click on the site to start typing they go away..... FFS!

Just talked to a computer store in my area and they say it sounds like the video card even thou its brand new..... Like 4 months old..

When you see the dots/lines do they move WITH the program/webpage or do they seem to hover over it? (could be the GFX card or the Monitor depending on which).

P.s. Video card could be the culprit but try plugging in another monitor (if you have one) and see if it still displays the dots/lines.
 
Took it to the pc shop today.

MSI NVidia GeForce 6600 GT 128Mb Ordered from www.zipzoomfly.com

Fan stoped spinnin due to it was warped and it was hitting the heat sink and it messed did damage to the card and i still got the dots ont he right side but i don't have them all over my screen atm... Got a new heat sink etc... put on. Hope it doesn't get Worse :)
