Computer froze.

Yesterday, my computer froze while I was trying to watch a YouTube video. I had to turn the monitor on and off, then go to a different window to get my screen to unfreeze again. This happened a couple of weeks ago, too. How do I fix this?

Have you done any general maintenance to your system lately, like run Ccleaner or Malwarebytes? If you were able to access another window then I wouldn't call the computer frozen. Might be a browser issue, what web browser do you use? Have you tried refreshing it?

Also, the YouTube video I was trying to watch was still playing, because I could hear the sound from the video, it just wasn't moving, and I could still move my mouse around, I just couldn't click on a new tab. When I turned the monitor on and off, I could click on a new tab after a few seconds.

I guess that's not really "freezing", is it?

As I said, You probably need to do some general cleaning with Ccleaner and Malwarebytes. If that don't solve it, its most likely a browser issue, try using a different browser. Each browser should have the ability to do a refresh/reset where it removes settings and extensions and starts over. Start with Ccleaner and Malwarebytes though. Just run the custom clean option with Ccleaner. So install the program, open it, click on custom clean on the left and then click on run cleaner. This will clear out a bunch of crap your browser stores and it may be causing an issue. Malwarebytes will check for malware, quarantine whatever it finds and let me know.
