Before I posted about my computer restarting due to overheating problems, but it was fixed, but now my computer is restarting about 4-6 times a day. It would sit there idling and just randomly restart, or when im playing a game.

Before the "restarting issue" from my old post, I used to idle at ~28C and my computer would restart whenever im playing a game with hdr settings. Now im randomly restarting with an idle at 50C. The power supply fan looks as if its dead (not spinning at all). Someone suggested on my old post it was my mobo that was causing the problem, but now I really think its my power supply...or could it be both?

mobo

Replace Cooler & Paste

i find that the easiest fix fo overheating problems is to pull off your heatsink clean the fan and renew the thermal paste. add a few fans to the case and it should do the trick or you can just send it to the dump

A while being about 7 months :P Don't recycle it. Wait, what kind of advice is that?

Anyway, try taking a bottle of compressed air and blowing the dust out of the case.

Ok my computer just restarted 4 times within 2 minutes. It's not even at 40C. I'm definitely sure its not an overheating issue.

But does it spin?

CoolMax isn't the best company to go with. I'd say it's poor quality.

No, it doesn't spin at all. Sits there like its in hibernation or something lol.

Yeah, someone gave me the same advice that coolmax isnt a great company.

I already cleaned out my computer yesterday with compressed air and it seemed like it lasted longer, but really it didn't. It started right back to restarting like every 2-3 hours and sometimes even 10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure theres nothing wrong with my cpu and why would I send my computer to the dump when I can just replace a part.

Most likely its not an overheating issue. Most computers go way over 50C

I'm going to guess that your PSU is overheating. The fan should spin, not stay off 24/7.

So it does not spin during gaming either? If not, I'd go out and buy a PSU first off. Also, check your temperatures right after it restarts.

Ok, now my computer is completely dead.

I decided to turn off my computer overnight, so it would cool off, but when I woke up today, turning it on, I would see my leds turn on for a split second, spin, and then turn off and then the computer shuts down.

I'm guessing it's the psu? ....or is it the mobo?
I'm pretty sure its the psu.

[edit]

Ok, I bought a new power supply, solved the problem. Never going to buy CoolMax ever again.

No, nevermind. It is not fixed. I bought a new power supply and my computer is randomly restarting for no reason. Most likely mobo in my opinion.
