computer is running slow with XP

Computer is running slow with XP, I up graded from ME,
Specs CPU Intel Pentium III Mobile 866MHz, RAM 128 (64x2)
I can easily buy RAM if that will help, but is the processor jest to slow
:confused: O it's a laptop
 
Yup

The RAM will be your biggest problem. Ideally, you should be aiming at at least 512MB. The processor should manage fine. I had it installed on a machine with 256MB of RAM and Pentium II MMX 350Mhz and it worked fine (althou slow).

Yea, upgrade the ram!! Thats your problem... That, and if you just "upgraded" to XP... I would suggest a clean install instead of an upgrade.. especially from WinME!

I actually have Windows XP Pro running great on a Pentium 200 Mhz with 256 MB Ram in my shop! That computer runs like it has never run before! :)

Yea, upgrade the ram!! Thats your problem... That, and if you just "upgraded" to XP... I would suggest a clean install instead of an upgrade.. especially from WinME!

O I formatted the hard first. Man ME has serious problems hehe O well:D
 
yea, that it does!! Anyway, if you have formatted the drive, then installed XP... I would sugest a RAM upgrade then.. At least to 512 MB! Windows XP is a RAM hog, but the more it has, the better everything runs!
 
As others said:upgrade your ram to at least 512M.Don't update your operation system from ME.I think you'd better format your hdd and then install XP.Then I believe your computer will not run so slow.

I did format my hd.
