Computer Issue Power Supply??

I just upgraded my computer to a x6 1090t processor and the mouse jumps-skips regularly, I also have problems when attaching a 2.5" Hdd that requires power from the USB port. Both devices work off of USB. I upgraded the bios first to version 2009, but still have the problem. My previous cpu was Phenom x3 720 and had the same problem with the Hdd but not with the mouse / this is really irritating. I also can get the problem to get better if I disable the wifi card, ( I'm on the limit distance wise and thought I might be spending extra juice searching for my signal or staying locked on). Any advice from some of you experienced system builders will be appreciated!
If there is any further info that may be needed please let me know. This is a new problem

My system has a 500 watt OCZ power supply in it and is as follows:
- phenom x6 1090t
-asus m4a785td-m evo mthr board
- 4gig ocz 1600 Mhz ddr3 ram
- ati 4670 "diamond version"
- hauppauge hd 2250 tv tuner
- netgear range max wn311 n band wifi
- multicard reader (usb)
- lg blu-ray "read/write"
- lg dvd multi-drive
- apivia q-pack 2 case (w/stock fans, 1x 120mm and 1x 80/90mm)
- win7 x64
- 2x seagate barracuda 1Tb hdds

The q-pack 2 does have a temp display that I have hooked up and the cpu runs at around 30-33 C never higher I think that rules out temp issues.

A power supply can cause some pretty odd problems, but I'm hard pressed to say that's your problem right off. Have you tested your RAM? Maybe let Memtest run overnight for a nice memory/stress test. Also, have you tried any other OS's? Either reloading Windows or booting to some Linux Live CD.
 
Thanks for responding. I did run windows memtest with my install disk, but haven't tried booting a live distribution. I'll do try that this afternoon. Thanks for the idea, don't know why I didn't think of it. Buzz.
 
Thanks for your input. The power supply on paper would seem to be big enough. But I went and found a 750 watt OCZ modular supply and tried it and this cleared up my mouse problem and the problem with portable hard drives that use USB power. After 1 day seems fixed.
