Computer just shut down?

Hmmmmm

My computer just turned off by itself. I wasnt doing anything bar one msn conversation and ran core temp. My computer randomly shut it sefl down, as if the power had been cut off. I pressed the power button and it came back on.

This seems to me like a probable PSU problem. Is there any way i can check a psu's health or stability?

Its not the first time it has happened, although i think the time before i knocked the power plug out by accident, this time there was no movement what so ever.

Its nothing overheating, because my temps are fine

I also checked to see if anything was shorting the motherboard, and nothing is / was

Maybe psu overheating?

Your opinions?

Bad driver or something, they can do that if they conflict I think...

I don't know how to check the PSU for stability or health, check it's voltage readings in PC Wizard or something.

If its the one in your sig it shouldn't do that... check your voltages anyways.

I thought driver conflicts only made BSOD's and errors?

That happened to an old family computer of ours once. Sometimes it just restarted randomly, and sometimes it just turned off. It turned out to be the power source. Since that wasnt exactly your problem (no restarting) it may not be the power but you might want to check anyways.

Hmmmm its just done it again.

Im going to run stock speeds for a week or so and if it happens again RMA the PSU. We wil see what happens from there
