Computer keeps freezing

ok, so i dont know wuht it is, im guessing its my processor but within the last hour my computer froze 2 times, and restarted once. i wasnt doin much at all, just playin some garrys mod, downloading somethin, and playin music. does anyone know why it is doing this?
 
possibly heat problems with the cpu, all new motherboards have a sensor that'll shut the system off when the cpu gets too hot, check it and make sure the hs/f is on right and not all dusty
 
well, my old P5ND2 SLI mobo was a deffect cuz it ran too hot and i was thinkin maybe it could be the same with my new one? idk wuht a good temp for mobo is but mines running now in the BIOS at 38c which doesnt seem like a bad temp but doesn anyone have any ideas? ( it also just restarted itself a 2nd time and i had speedfan running for my cpu and the temp was only 35c so i dont think it was a heat prob with the cpu)
 
Are you sure that youve installed the CPU heatsink and thermalgrese properly? Also, get a temperature monitor and record the temperatures that you find.
