computer keeps restarting

i need help with my computer it keeps restarting itself on a random basis...
sometimes it shutsdown and i get a blue screen with an error stop message thing but mostly it juts reboots on its own...
can someone pls help me i would greatly appretiate it...cheers
 
That happened to me before and it was because of a bad hardrive.

You need to disable automatic reboot so you can check to see whats going on. Right now go to event viewer and see if you see anything bad. To disable automatic rebooting do this....

Go to system properties screen and click on advanced tab, then under startup and recovery click on settings. Then uncheck automatically restart.

To get to event viewer, right click on my computer, click on manage, click on event viewer on left. Go through Application, security, system to find errors. Post back with any bad signs.
 
Dznutz- my computer and the processor zone is average around 60 degrees

Johnb35- iv already turned off automatic restart but it still does it.
I just checked out the event log and there was a system error it had a whole heap of numbers. There was an error code: 10000050 , A parameter 1 code:e3070490 , parameter 2 code:00000001 , parameter 3 code:80552669 , and a parameter 4 code:00000001. I don't know if that can be any help to you cua I got no idea eat it means.
