Computer Lagg every 10 Minutes

Hi !

A few days ago, i formated my computer and reinstalled Win XP Pro.
Since that, my computer laggs for 10 seconds, every 10 minutes.. (mostly in 3d Games, but sometimes also when i am on windows )
what could be the reason ??

My Computer :

2,67 Ghz Intel , 1024 Mb Ram , GeForce 5900XT , 200 Gb Drive Space
windows XP Pro Service Pack 1, Norton Internet Security 2005.

can you be a little more specific on the processor? is it a celeron or pentium?

have you tried sp2?

no, haven t tried sp 2. I will try it.

Line speed doesn't help, is it DSL or cable? With Verizon cable I've been finding that it will lag the computer when it isn't on (DSL can be turned off) and the lag is just the way you describe it.

Yes it ' s DSL , but installing SP 2 removed the Problem Thank you !

2. Thats actually pretty hot for a NorthwoodA

Hmmm .. odd... oh well... glad you got it worked out! (that stil is pretty warm for a NorthwoodA mind you ... especially if its the idle temp)
