Computer Loading Problem

When I try booting up my computer nothing shows up on screen and the floppy drive keeps making noise. I thought it was the harddrive and I switched plugs to my D drive to make it my primary but still nothing shows up on screen when it usually does say something like "Please put proper..something". Is it still my harddrive problem? Even the D drive, even though something showed up on screen even when I plugged it in last time? Also I noticed that the HDD light on my case to rather stay solid rather than blinking when loading things. What may be the problem? I already ordered a new harddrive b/c of the apparent noise that was coming out of my harddrive (C: Drive). Is it finally dead? Or is something wrong with other stuff in the computer b/c when I try plugging in the D: Drive in to make primary nothing shows up on screen at all when it used to. Please help!

No, I don't. Nothing is in the floppy. Also, I tried putting my brother's harddrive in mine and it still comes out the same.

its like a very sharp noise. It started happening a week ago and people said it can go wrong any minute and i guess it did by now. I am not sure if its only the harddrive though, because NOTHING at all shows up on the screen even if I put my brother's computer's hard drive in mine. Same problem occurs, NOTHING SHOWING UP on screen and floppy keeps making noise.

What I would do is try buy removing the floppy and start it again to see if the noise goes, but if the screen isnt doing anything with yours or your brothers hard drive in then I would say thats nothing to do with it and it could be a RAM problem or graphics problem

does it beep or anything and what graphics do you have onboard or card?

nothing beeps. I tried removing the floppy drive and obviously the noise stops but still nothing shows up on the screen.

well I would say its your card or your RAM that is making a dead screen as you have the power and you know what the noise is also you know that your hard drive is ok

But I would check your card first as your not getting a bios beeping sound, unless you are getting no beep what so ever then I would test another RAM stick in and see what happens.

I checked my graphic card and that is not the problem. I would have to say my RAM is in good condition. I just hope that it would be the harddrive because I already ordered one. Any more suggestions people or the solution?

if you have checked your HDD with another and still the same it must be ok and if its not the graphics card I would say its your RAM
