Computer Locked from Bios

I am having trouble booting my computer. I have a Compaq Pesario 2100. It turns on and goes to the Compaq screen, then reqires a bios password to proceed. I don't know the password or how to get around it. I cannot get to the F8 menu thing, because EVERYTHING is locked with the Bios password. Here are my two questions:

1. I can't find the Bios battery. I know what it looks like, but I don't see it. Might that be the cause of my issues? If not, where the hell does it go?

2. Do you know any backdoor passwords that might work with this SPECIFIC model? I've tried a bunch, but none of them work.

3. Do you know of any hacks that may get around a bios password that don't require booting to Windows?

Interesting question my friend. The battery is there you must first take apart the laptop, but if the laptop is locked with a bios password you must have firts either took the laptop apart which automatically locks it, or the laptop is not yours... taking the battery out, at least on IBM laptops brings out a master password for the bios... there is a way around it, but you must search on google for that!!!!

I guess somebody needed the money. D, your friend should really have checked the laptop before!!!, i think the best bet is to remove the battery, it should not be too hard, you could just youtube the make and model of the laptop, just also type "take apart" or something like this!!!, it should have a video on how to take/ remove the batter, or at least reach it!!!, remove for around 2 minutes to be sure!!!. plug it back in and see if that worked!!! i think it should be fine on a campaq!

Removing the CMOS battery won't necessarily clear the password. Laptops rarely clear the BIOS password when this is done.

As voyagerfan99 noted, some laptops won't reset the BIOS password by simply removing the CMOS Battery. I am pretty sure that Compaq is one of those brands that incorporates a non-volatile memory for power-on password purposes.

A decent search paradigm in the engine of your choice should net you a page or two detailing how to get around this problem.

My friend took it as a broken computer he knew it was ****ed up. It was only like 20 dollors or whatever. Its worth much more just parting off all the working parts though. Thanks for trying but im giving up now unlessmsomebodymcanmgove
