Computer locking up

I've been having this problem for about a year now. I have now replaced every single component in my computer including mb and cpu excluding one of my DVD roms. During game play, it locks up with no pattern. I still have sound playing though. Usually, if it's music or something, it will just keep playing and eventually shut off. Could it be the case? Like maybe the switch on it? That is the only thing that I haven't tried. I've changed out ram, HD, video cards, p/s, heatsinks....everything. Please help!
 
that happens with every PC occasiaonally....

My PC does it when i suddely go from surfing the internet to hardcore BF2..

you just need to try and be smooth and calm when it goes from idle to under load.
 
It's not a matter of being smooth, it's during game play. When It locks up everything and makes me reboot, it's not normal.
 
Do you have all the latest drives for your GPU?


Download ATItool or watever its called, and record the temps of just normal usage and when gaming.

I definitely think that your GPU could be overheating.
 
Yes, I have the latest ones. I just got that card in yesterday. It was doing it with my old 6600GT card too in a different m/b and processor. I used my SATA HD thinking that the problem might have been the IDE drive and had the same results. Even reinstalled windows AGAIN. I've also tried it with my desktop fan blowing right on the m/b with same results.
 
Is the computer still in the same location, such as a corner or cupboard? If you've changed each and every component, then the problem can't be tied to the hardware. But maybe, the air that has already passed through the case and taken some of the heat off the components has been pulled back in through the front/side, so the inside of your case gets warmer and warmer, until it crashes.

You have to remember that the hot air being expelled from the case needs to go elsewhere in the room to not be sucked back in instead of cool air.
 
Computer has been moved between three different rooms, put on top of the desk, under and where ever else I can put it. Have an exiting fan on rear, plus p/s. Have incoming on both sides. Plus I have tried without the side on for periods of time. I think I've tried everything but changing out the case. I am going to borrow a case from my brother and see what happens with that. But still looking for other ideas :)

What are your temps, voltages? What cooling solution do you have? What PSU?
 
Temps are usually about 32' at idle and 41' max at load on cpu and about 52' idle and 60' load on video card

Voltages I don't pay much attention to, but they should be okay. (I think) Not sure what to look at, I have Speedfan running

I'm running a Zalman CNPS7000B fan and Ultra 500 watt p/s

Here's one of the case.....wiring isn't organzied yet, so no beef please :)

On the other side of the case, I have a fan that pushes air in and of course I also have one on the visible side when side is installed which also pushes air in.
 
I'll draw your attention to the 3.3v line which is running at 2.75v. Your PSU is the culprit :)

Not sure on load, have to get back on that one.

I have done a memory test for about 5 hours with no errors
 
What do you mean out of spec? reading to high/low? I don't know anything about voltages.

Well a 3.3v line should be running at .... 3.3v. Your's is running at 2.75v.

High or low doesnt matter specifically, what matters is that its not 3.3 and not remotely close to 3.3
 
So what are your suggestions as far as that goes? You think it's a low voltage issue or maybe even SpeedFan?
I will check the bios to see what readings I get when I get home tonight.
 
Apparently, when I did the Speedfan screenshot, the 3v line was just low then. I did the bios, so I trust that more :)
