I usually open up my case every few months and blow out the dust that collects in the fans and whatnot.
I don't have water cooling, but since it is a main part of your system, check the coolant level every week or so I'd say.
And unless you have a constant spy sweep/virus scanner always going, scan at least once a week. Thats all I need, because I never find anything and it's a waste of time to do it every day.

For a laptop I would clean the fans/keyboard every 1-2 months..
For a desktop.. I don't know probably around the same time
In terms of virus protection, I would let my computer run most of the time and have the virus program do a full system scan every week or half-week during the night. I would also use ccleaner once or twice a week to fix registry problems and delete all the junk

ccleaner once or twice a week.. More like maybe a the min once a month or maybe once every 2 months.But depends on your hard drive size. If you have a fairly big hard drive like a 320GB or something then once every 2 months would be fine.

Personally, I clean my laptop weekly. I use lens cloths on the screen, keyboard, and the other surfaces (black shows easily shows dust). I open it up and clean the graphics card fan, RAM and other parts every month or so, maybe sooner than that. Virus, Adaware, CCleaner, etc etc I do weekly. I like to start fresh for the week. I'm picky about things though, I probably do more than is needed.

Why not, I run CCleaner every night. Before I shut down every cookie and internet history is nuked, zapped and obliterated so I'm nice and clean next day

it's not a big deal to use ccleaner once or twice a week... I set mine to delete the recycle bin with 35 passes for secure deletion.. So it's basically a tool that cleans the computer of the internet cache, registry problems, and others

Wow now that you have brought this up i think i have to clean out my computer caseI know i have not done it since i got it so.... and it is in a closed space

I run Ccleaner once or twice a week, and all my anti-virus/spyware stuff every month or so. I usually dust my computer whenever I open it, which is pretty often.
