Computer Making Beeping Noises... PLEASE HELP!

Hi there, I built my 1st computer about 4 months ago with a :

e6400 core2duo
gigabyte 965p-ds3
Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro
Xclio 450 watt PSU
and EVGA 7300GT

The problem I am having is ever since I put the damn thing together, its made strange beeping noises at start-up or when I open any of the gigabyte motherboard programs such as: "Easy Tune 5" or "iCool"... Sometimes those programs won't even open... EasyTune 5 usually never, unless i restart my computer and its the 1st thing I open..

Anyways, I don't quite know what the problem is, the beeps are inconsistent, sometimes it beeps longer, sometimes shorter, mostly long-ass annoying beeps tho... A few times when it does it:

-When the computer has been on overnight and it gets really cold in the house (in florida, so we have air conditioning 24/7). Could the processor possibly get too cold??? or am I just an idiot?

-Also happens when it gets really, hott, even tho the Artic Cooling Freezer was mostly the cause of that before, but I replaced that with the original because I think I broke the artic trying to put it on the 1st time..

-and has happened once or twice when playing counterstrike.

Anyway's, I am just trying to find ways to diagnose the problem... I don't quite know, if I should just take it in and get it looked at or how to access if its the motherboard, memory, cpu or what....

Any suggestions???

Thank you,

-David

So beeps but no change in performance, restarts, or anything like that?

If most everything's happening while it's running, it's probably something like a voltage or heat issue. All I can suggest is to keep an eye on your software. If an alarm is set off, try and find exactly what's causing it.

I built a PC one and it began to randomly chirp at me. The problem was a voltage was on the edge of the threshold of being too low. Every so often it would drop down, setting off an alarm.

Okay!

So OKAY crazily enough I think I just figured it out... But, i'm gonna need some step by step help...

On the newegg website under reviews for the g-skill 2 gb ram some of the reviews say and I quote

"As one user already mentioned this memory is not compliant fully with motherboards using D965 chipset. It is recognized as 800 MHz memory, but makes a computer crash, don't even let Windows to be installed. when speed is reduced to 667 it works stable."

and this is the memory i have viewed here : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231102

so, what I need to know is how to bring the 800 MHz memory down to 667???

Eh...well if that is the cause then there may be options in the bios. Sometimes there's a manual clock options for the RAM and you can force it to run at DDR667 speeds? I'm not sure though... I don't think that would cause it to simply beep...

i am thinking it is the ram tho, i dont know what kind of issue, maybe i will just go buy new ram... But in my motherboard manual it says, "long and short beeps" is a dram error, which seems to be what I get upon start-up and most of the time.....

Thanks for your help...

Beep codes like you're referring to there typically happen during post with nothing on the screen. I know when my computer was freaking out with the voltage, the alarm sometimes would be "BEEEEP BEEP BEEEEEP BEEP..." Sort of a high low type as well... Though most of the time it would only do a partial beep because the fluctuation was so fast and minor.

thanks again!!!

Okay so new developements, my computer isn't starting up at all now... It makes noise but nothing comes up on screen. So, I opened it up, and noticed all the fans where working except for the one on the video card....

I am guessing this may be the issue with all of it, like I said before it may have been the ram, but now that I can't even start-up and theres a fan off on the video card, I am thinking this is the main cause of concern...

The video card isn't supposed to be very high end, its a 7300 gt and I guess thats a piece of crap cuz now it doesn't work....

So, I am going in tommorow to pick up a 7600 gt... and see if that does one better....

I am hoping this will fix the problem.. Although if it is the voltage I'd still like to hear how to check my voltage to see if its running correctly as you all have said....

again thank you all for your help!
