Computer messed up, don't know what to do

ok ive checked on my RAM with cpu-z, i just dont have anything to compare my results to. They are:
Frequency: 200.9 MHz
FSB: DRAM: CPU/9
CAS# Latency: 2.5 clocks
RAS# TO CAS# Delay: 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge: 3 clocks
Cycle Time(Tras): 8 clocks
Bank Cycle Time(Trc): 12 clocks
DRAM Idle Timer: 16 clocks

I also ran my processor through prime95 stress tester and it failed in one minute saying: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was to 0.5, expected less than 0.4" then "hardware failure detected"

Well that is probably your problem. Memory errors can bring your whole system down.

That would be most unfortunate, I would hate to replace my gig of RAM, not the cheapest thing in the world, then again it's cheaper than other things.

But what does it mean if under my L2 cache ratio it says it's full.. is that good?
Yeah thats fine :)

I got a number of errors but they are all numbers and I cannot figure out what they mean
And what numbers might they be? :)

Unfortunate but quite possible (and probable) that it would be the course of action needed

Ok here's the deal now: I ran through a memtest for my RAM and it came up with no errors. My computer still acts slower than it should and used to. Any other ideas on how to test what is wrong with my machine? I am willing to try almost anything at this point..

Have you scanned for viruses and everything. Make sure you have a reasonable amount of space left on your hdd. Sometimes, when you hdd gets full, the system slows down. Do you have a lot of processes running the the background?

I formatted my harddrive and reinstalled windows just yestederday I have absolutely nothing on this guy except drivers at the moment.

I decided last night that I can't just trust one RAM memory test so I downloaded a full PC diagnostic with tests for everything. I ran the video test and it worked fine, I ran the processor tests and it passed them all, it went on through every device.. except memory. I ran the memory test about five or six times, and every time during the test, the program would lock up and have to close as a "not responding" program. I still have to work out if it's both of my sticks of 512 or just one. Could this finally be the solution to by problem as you guys have been saying?

Use MemTest ... doesnt get better and more through really

Thats the problem with running OS level tests, you can never be sure of why its saying "not responding" ... hence Memtest! :)

Ok, I ran memtest86 and during test five I got well over 1000 errors. So I decided after the test was over to test the RAM sticks one at a time. It was wierd because when I ran the seperate sticks through the test they both passed with no errors. I put them back in again and during test 5 again, I got over 2000 errors, all from the slot 2 stick. I figured that cause all of the errors were from 512.something to 1024.something. I have to reinstall all of my games etc to see if anything helped then I will post results.. could this be it? Do I just have to buy another stick of 512? GOOD LORD LET IT BE THE END!

Could be the problem

Yep most likely it was your ram. If you have any spare ram test it out and see if it helps out any. Your Harddrive could me messed up too. I had a harddrive that was messed up and my computer slowed up. One more thing remove some some of those pci cards see if that helps.

All righty then, I removed isolated the one stick of bad ram with memtest86 and removed it and now everything is working very smoothly. I have also ordered another stick to replace it. All of the benchmarks show that everything seems to be back to normal besides the fact that it's slower with only half the RAM I used to have. Thank you everybody for your time. Praetor is the man!

Glad you got it working! :D
