Computer noise that freezes desktop :(

My desktop has been having a rare occasion of making a chirp noise. Not multiple chirps or clanking like a hard drive, just a single chirp. It doesn't give any signs when it will happen it will randomly just chirp and slowly freeze my computer. Although, recently it has gotten worse. To the point that it chirps at desktop screen or at the Windows loading screen. I just tried Safe Mode and so far I haven't encountered the chirp. What could be the problem and what is a good way to find it?

Graphics: R6850 Cyclone AMD.
Mainboard: A75MA - G55 Military Class II
Windows 7 64 bit

If any other info is needed I will try to get it. (this was posted on another computer)

EDIT: Sorry for posting twice, i'm new here and i don't know how to delete the post.

What exact power supply do you have?

Can you record the noise of this 'chirp' and put it on YouTube or somewhere so we can hear it?

The first step must be to find out what component the noise is coming from, simply lay the computer on it`s side, take off the side panel ( usually the left side if looking at pc from the front )

Then start the machine and listen for the noise and try to pinpoint where it is coming from, it is unlikely to be hdd as it makes more of a scrapping sound.

Most likely to be power supply or maybe cpu cooler.
