Hi, I'm new to these forums. I love programming and am a really good programmer but when it comes to hardware I'm embarrassingly inept and ignorant.
So basically, my hard drive had 10 GB free out of 105 GB. I did a quick cleanup and got to 12.5 free GB, not a whole lot more. I then clicked on my hard drive, and selected all the files and folders in it and clicked Properties. The total size was approximately 47.1 GB and 48.4 GB on disk. So, where are the other 40 gigabytes? Are there some hidden folders or something? I really need a bit more space and the lack of 40 GB is really annoying. If all else fails, of course I'll get an external hard drive but I'd like to figure out where my missing gigs are first. I have a Lenovo R61i if it helps at all. Apparently there is no longer a 105 GB model of this sold; mine is two years old.
