Computer not booting up

Recently, my computer has been shutting down by itself. When it does, the screen would either freeze or just turn to a random color. When i try to boot it up, it would give 1 long beep and 3 short beeps, which means there is something wrong with my GPU. i tried with another GPU and the same thing happened. I have 4x1gb RAM. I tried running 2 of them each time, same result. Which mean there is a high chance that my GPU and RAM are working fine. Does any1 have any idea?
My specs:
Core 2 Quad 6600
4x1gb RAM
9600gt

What is the make of the computer - do you have onboard video you can try?

Likely the board is pooched - northbridge to PCI-E has a short or something

I bet it's an HP, sounds like an HP setup. I'd replace the board with an Asus with socket 775 / 4 ddr2 slots and reuse everything else.

If you still had the problem - well then both the video cards you tried are no good (unlikely)

Have you made any recent changes to software or other hardware?

its a custom build. Recently, i bought a new mouse, Roccat Kone but this problem did happened quite a few times before this, though less frequent.

Did you try booting with only 1 stick of RAM?

Try booting with each of your sticks, in the required first slot.
