computer not displaying anything

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and looking for answers.

A while ago I built myself a desktop computer and installed window xp as operating system. It worked fine for a while but at some point made a few bleeping noise and since then I can't see anything. The OS isn't loading. All the cooling fans are on and it make a single beeping sound when I turn it on.

Could it be a hard drive failure or CPU. Or something else.

Hold the F8 key during boot and see if you can launch windows in safemode. If not, insert the CD again and try to repair the installation. If that works, scan your hard drive for errors.
