ok, so i have a new computer that is quite expensive... 1500$$...
i have a p5n32 e plus mobo

i have a samsung 19 inch mon connected to it... as well as a joystick, which lights up when computer is turned on... however , every time when i first turn on my comp... and i turn on the mointor, is appears as if the monitor was not connected to the cpmputer at all... as well, the joystick doesnt light up, even after minutes... but everything works flawlessly as it should after a manual restart everytime ... do you guys know how to fix this? if i manually restart my computer everything... its gonna killl my comp... plus its quite bothersome... thanks

Lol, course it's bothersome.

1. Unplug everything except the GFX, motherboard, PSU, monitor. Keyboard & mouse. Turn it on. What happens?

Any beeps?

Lately on the XP side of things the screen goes black right after the personal settings splash screen comes up. I have to reboot 2 or 3 times in order to get a normal desktop. That is from the XP version of driver for a new DX10 compatible video card.

But all that is after the post tests while you are not even seeing those? I suspect a bios update may help will not ruling out a bad board there. I trust that's an Asus model going by the number there.

Do you see the logo or post screen and then everything goes dark like the monitor was unplugged or simply nothing at all? Nothing at all knowing the monitor is good points at the board there more then seeing the same type of driver problem unless the 8800 is wigging out a little until that warms up. You could try reseating the card to see that is what you need to do there.

nothing at all... but the problem isnt mainly the graphics... its like the computer is nort outputing... because my joystick doesnt seem to turn on properly either...

This is why my first thought here pointed at the board. That doesn't rule out the card being lifted in the slot however. The two things to try there would be checking to see if the card is down fully and try an update for the bios unless the latest is already on for that model.

The easy no effort way would simply be to rma the board to see if the replacement sees the same thing or is corrected. If the board is found to be at fault you will have to return it anyways.

One other thought comes immediately to mind on why no video is seen besides a hardware fault. The question here would be if the video card there has twin vga outputs primary and secondary. Despite trying both here XP will see everything go black right when the desktop is due to arrive for that reason. I have to hit the reset button a few times or replug the monitor back and forth. Finally I left it plugged into the primary vga port and set Vista as the default OS since no dual display problems come up there.
