computer not picking up hardrive??

hi when i connect my harddrive it says no patition 0 and when i try install windows 7 on it says windows cannot install on partition 0?any ideas what dis could be ??? and says no driver? do i need 2 install a driver for my hardrive?system dell optiplex gx27o
this a new hardrive by the way it has happended two me before on outher hardrive an didnt sort it out what am i doin wrong

Does it give you an option to reformat partition and install instead of just install??

Maybe its your Motherboard BIOS stopping it. Use a friends comp and put your HDD in there and install Windows 7, then put it back in your comp with the fresh install and see if boots properly. When i had this problem last summer i actually had to flash my bios to get Windows XP Pro SP3 to install. Possibly similar problem eh? Outdated bios. Good luck.

Try clicking on the partition and delete it and make a new one and see if it will format.
