computer parts in 1996

i like reading about computer in the 1990's cause there more related to what we have now, with the whole desktop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and microsoft. Thats the only thing that site is really missing.

i have a computer from 1997 in my room, i took out the cdrom and put it in my new one :) it does have some pci ports but all of my cards were using an older type of port so i cant transfer them to my new computer, although the 1 gb hard drive is kinda cool, i use it as a slave. also the ide cables are still usefull.

I remember those big ISA cards and slots. In my computer class at school we put a simm ram chip in one and fried the slot :D . But the mobo still lived.
I miss screwing around in that class. :(

My computer repair class was sweet we had allot of old Pentiums comps that we worked on with little supervision :) .

my teacher has like 50+ cd drives, 50+ floppy's, probably miles of network cables and tons of hard drives. We build them and give them to the middle and elementary school :P

My school saved alot of money because of my class they still use some of there old P2 that we fix up for the. Kind of like IT slave labor. :) but i got my A+ and Net+ so i'm happy.

i never heard of any computer repair classes around where i live :(

Check and see if there any local career center that might have it. If you’re going to college you may be able to tack a class.

yeah im taking computer science so there aren't really computer repair classes (although it would be fun) but there are hardware classes and the like..
