computer pet peeves?

You just admitted you don't have a clue what you're talking about when it comes down to PC's. You just burned yourself. :P

I hate it when the computer doesn't work the next day even though it was working without any signs of any issues yesterday.

And when people type brands and names in general incorrectly. I guess I'm a perfectionist.

Not really, at end of day I understand alot of people who work for the company have very limited knowledge. Also their to make money, so thats the job role really...

I hate it when p30p1e ta1k 1ik3 th1s and think they are cool
and when all the tech support is in india and you can't understand a dang thing they say....as if it mattered cause they don't know much of anything anyway

Not talking about tech support really, especially not in india.

Friends

I am annoyed that out of my 5 good friends who also are computer literate (I hesitate to say that) I will find a mod or program for a game we all play and tell them about it and almost all of them have to have me walk them directly to the download que if the link doesn't work or something like that. Where as I found it by searching on Yahoo of all places. I can't just say search for it. 1 friend will completely tweak out over it saying he can't do it. My roommate can do it 50% of the time. My other friend always seems to be trying to do it drunk and the other 2 just sigh...:(

Windows XP needing to be verified over the phone on a reinstall of a legal copy.

I agree with the statement earlier of your computer works 1 day then the next nada. (If you have roommates beware of them spilling drinks on your Keyboard and not owning up to it until a severe thrashing is given).

Routers randomly dropping the network with no explanation for weeks then magically working one day.

The death of good Lan parties. People are too lazy now days.

When people DO come for a LAN party then try to play WOW (I nearly threw his box out the front door) or try to play single player games all day. WTF is the point of coming over to LAN and do that?

People who hack at games. IE: My friend was hacking at CSS and got banned then had the gall to ask me for a hacked key to play some more. I was like hell no you f***ing cheater. So he bought another copy and presently is abstaining from his cheating ways.

The fact my computer can be more fun than my GF on almost any given day is annoying. No offense to the ladies.

The fact that we've seen no MAJOR advancements in the last 3 years. C2D is nice but not earth shattering. Video cards? I'm not even gonna go there.

I hate when people call computers with win xp PCs cuz all computers are PCs. I hate how geeksquad rips people off. On their website it says they charge $129 to dust your pc... I could go on but you dont want me to.

For me it's spyware and pop ups, I hate them, they keep coming back to my computer, does anyone know a good free spyware deleter?

The fact that iTunes has the biggest, best selection of music and the only online music store that is compatible with iPods (and the fact that you can't replace the ipod battery without voiding the warranty unless you shell $60), yet you can't reload your songs if you accidently delete them from your computer..... DAMN YOU STEVE JOBS AND ALL YOUR i'S!!!!!!

And when the line quality is complete crap and static is going off everywhere while you're trying hard to understand what the tech guy is trying to convey to you....Then at the end, they ask you to rate their line quality out of 5 :P ONEEE

No, seriously, they're is a whole scheme towards iPods and iTunes. See, the thing is, you can get you songs from you iPod to your computer without any fancy software. No, where they really get you is that 'auto-sync' crap. Auto sync automatically updates your iPod to whatever in your library. The only way to turn auto-sync (and if iTunes runs when you plug in your iPod) on or off is when you plug in you iPod. So when you plug in your iPod and your library is empty, by default, iTunes automatically comes on and auto-syncs, aka deletes whatever is on your iPod, forcing you to either go and buy music from their store again or actually go to the store and buy a CD, which costs more, which by the way, is nearly impossible for a teen because some places are begining to card you for CDs that have Parental Advisory on them.

When i mention a new processor to someone that knows nothing but 3.4ghz and i tell them its dual core at 2ghz and they say it sucks.Basically people whom know nothing.

That's how all my friends are, I have to talk to them in stupid, lol. Like if I'm telling them about how I got all my files from my old comuter onto my new one, I have to say that I put in the thing that has all my old files on it in my new computer and copied them over, when usually I'd say, I set the old hard drive to slave and the new one as master and than went into My computer, found all of the files and copied them over or something along those lines. It gets annoying sometimes because I don't know how to translate it into stupid, lol.

My mouse, I'm using a ball one now because my Logitech finally died. Pity, I liked that mouse.
Anyway, my computer peeves:

A CD when it fails to burn
Downloading things through IE
People who don't set their CRT monitors to fill the entire screen, so there are black bars around the edges
People who think only the number of GB's of a computer's HDD make it good.

Man, I hate when the picture doesn't fill the screen that's the very first thing I fix when it's like that on my computer. The only thing I download through IE is Firefox and Microsoft Updates. And when people think that than I just walk off knowing that they're hopeless, lol.

i have those black bars, not small either, but the problem is i end up spending an hour making it just right cuz i always screw something up,i just learned to cope....but it is really annoying.

i hate stupid pointless viruses... like thoes damned aim viruses and shit.... if i get a virus, make me reformat... its less work then downloading 40 programs, updating going into safe mode and crap....

I always just do a system restore to the day I installed the operating system and start over, it's quicker and you get to save your documents.

Yeah everyone has their product that is crap but sells good. Like windows XP and quad SLI video cards. Actually I still havent done research to see if quad SLI is good or not.
