Computer problem, help needed

When i turn my computer on a screen comes up and says boot device. When i put my disk in it says( error encountered when creating a Save to Disk partition. So i ran the ediagtools and it said no hard disk detected.Do i need a new hard drive? the computer is a hp pavilion xf328 laptop. thanks for the help

when it boots enter your bios by pressing one of the f keys (exmp. f10) it varies with every computer (and some computers use the escape, tab, or delete key, like gigabyte) once your in there go to ide devices and see if it shows your hard drive, if it doesnt open your case and push the cables (both ends of the ide and then push the power cord in) in because it might be loose, if it still doesnt show up, then yes, you need a new hard drive...
