I have had something similar, what I have found in the past is that if you can get as far as the bootloader for Linux/Windows then boot into Linux then shut the PC down and try rebooting as normal.
other than that, try booting from your windows disk as if you are going to reinstall windows when it gets to the blue screen and asks if you want to install or use the repair console then simply select quit and reboot.
Don't ask me why these worked for me but I have had lots of trouble with Mandriva on a dual boot and using the above methods fixed it every time, I got the no hard drive error quite a bit but try the above even a couple of times before thinkign of whiping the whole drive.
