Computer Problem

I had a 1.8 pentium dell computer with 512 ram and 40 gb hard drive.

I decided i needed to up the specs of my computer to play halflife 2 as it was going a bit slow, so i invested in a new 3.00 ghz pentium 4 (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=123709&cks=PLS) and because dell dont want you changing the processor i got a new case and a new motherboard (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=123709&cks=PLS) that was compatible with the ram and the new processor.

I did not put this together myself as i was away at college so it was left in to a shop to be done. But now it is really noisy, keeps freezing, is very slow at times and had jerky music which has now led to not being able to play music at all.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Was it running poorly when you recieved it right away? or did this happen over time? could be spyware or a virus.

is very slow at times and had jerky music which has now led to not being able to play music at all.

What do you mean by this? you cannot start the program you use to play the music? what type of music? CD? MP3 stored on HD?

But now it is really noisy

How so? hard drive is noisy? fans? other?

Need to know the full specs :)

mobo is msi 865PE neo2-v and the link is above.

It has been running poorly since we got it back from the shop.

I think is the fan that is very noisy and is just kinda annoying.

I have been checking about the sound and there is actually no sound device installed but i dont understand how it could have been working(badly) before.

Now you are just confusing me LOL. Perhaps it's onboard? You have to plug your speakers in somewhere ;-). Errr perhaps the shop removed your soundcard and forgot to put it back in :P.

When you got it back from the shop did you check it out as far as processer speed and such? Most places will throw a computer together but are too lazy to set up the bios for you.

Hard to tell though still what your saying :). Most fans are noisy and annoying but some can be bad and really annoying as they are of the cheaper variety and have ball bearings that are going or somthing.
