Computer problem

My Steam games, Counter-Strike: Source and Half-life 2 keep slowing down, becoming unresponsive or sometimes causing my computer to restart. I'm not sure of what the problem is, but i'm thinking either overheating or a problem with Steam. The thing that makes me think its not steam though is when i press control alt delete it takes a long time to show up or sometimes not at all and when i move the mouse it freezes then jumps across the screen. It's very laggy at this point.

Here are my temps at full load:
(it's a core 2 duo)
Processor temperature: 112.5 C
Core #1: 78 C
Core #2: 75 C
Graphics card: 66 C
Harddisk: 40 C
Motherboard: 5 C

Can anyone help?

If those core temperatures are right then the CPU is heavily throttling back to stop itself from overheating. You will probably need to re-apply some thermal paste and/or get an after market CPU cooler. One good one is the Zalman CNPS9500 or the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

Your processors temperature is very high! But that doesn't mean that your temperature is the cause of your reboot. It could be, but we can't tell yet.

My first question is, did you add an extra hardware recently, or did you build the pc yourself? And if you did, when did you?

Looking at the temperatures directly I say it is an overheating problem. Memory problems would have constant lockups no matter where. But since its happening in games...

1. Check your HSF is secured tightly
2. Check that you have the thermal paste applied correctly.
3. Check that your system fan is still running at full throttle, if it is even moving.
