well, i got a problem where my computer would start up but wouldn't work its a hard thing to explain--
i would turn the computer on and then everything sounds like its working but i get nothing on the monitor and also my keyboard, USB mouse and speakers do not respond. my video card is also making a loud revving noise which is usually doesnt after start up.

this happened after i was playing a game and the computer rebooted

I am a little confused by what you mean you get nothing on the monitor. If there's no video how do you know your keyboard and mouse do not respond? Please clarify. Do you get a black screen with nothing on it? Do you see a mouse cursor at all? Does the CAPSLOCK, NUMLOCK, anbd SCROLLOCK buttons toggle the corresponding lights on your keyboard?

my screen is completely blank and the keyboard SCROLLOCK CAPSLOCK NUMLOCK do not toggle

First thing I would do is check that all your connections are secure:

Monitor to Wall.
Monitor to Video card.
Keyboard.
Mouse.

Also, try hooking up another monitor to eliminate it as a source of the problem.

ok. tried those its still got the same problem

Okay. With no response from toggling your keyboard keys, it looks like it may be a Mainboard issue. The only way to know for sure is to have a system diagnostic done on the Mainboard.

Someone else here may want to recommend some tools you could try to run yourself, but you may be better off taking it in to a shop and having a professional run them.

If it was a bad PSU then he wouldn't be getting any power. He wouldn't hear it start up and think everything was going to work fine. Sounds more like a mobo issue to me
