Is your computer capable of having a dedicated video card? If it is then buy a separate card. You might however want to take the machine in and have someone look at it to determine exactly what is wrong with it.

Usually if it's a video error, you get a long then two short beeps. A long beep (particularly if it's continuous beeeeep....beeeeep...) means RAM or other major hardware issues.

Before trying anything inside the computer, I'd contact Compaq or see about returning/exchanging the computer first. Being so new, it should still be under warranty and poking around inside might void it.

If you don't mind this or it's out of warranty, I'd start by removing whatever you could from the computer. If it has a dedicated card, remove that. Remove all the RAM, disconnect drives, etc. Just leave the power supply connected and try powering it then. See if you get the same beep code or anything different.

If your machine is within warranty, then just call the company to replace the video card, otherwise buy a new one yourself.
