computer problems..

hi guys,
ive got a problem. is there anyway i can attach a desktop computer to a laptop as to use the desktop as the running system and the laptop just as a screen? any help would be appreciated.

the only thing thats getting close to that,.. is when you have a videocard with a video out, and a laptop with a video in.. (you know.. such a black round cable :P )
however,.. both, the pc and laptop will be running then?


but why you want to do this? :S
 
probably cause he wants to play games or w/e on an LCD over a standard small CRT (maybe?) but if you have a TV Tuner Card, which you can get at berstbuy or something for around $30-$50, then you can plug it into the s-video in, although your notebook will still be running.
 
i want it for school, i want to be able to use my desktop computer when i am in my study but be able to use a laptop while at school. so is there anyway i can do it? i knew it was going to be difficult to do...
 
I thought most laptops had a monitor output on back... maybe I am wrong, but I just got a friend a dell 600m and there was a monitor port on the back..
 
which one is the monitor port? and will i need to buy cords and stuff. sorry guys. im not good with this stuff....
