Alright got this new compaq amd 64

Started having problems with the computer so I reinstalled windows.....

My problem is that my computer just stops responding and screen goes blank....
Any ideas.....

Its completly random too like some times I can stay on for awhile with no problems...Other times it will happen sooner then later....

I don't know...any suggestions would be great because this is driving me nuts...

I can understand! Hmm...I had a similar problem with my old pc. It started off like how your pc is suddenly blanking out but then it randomly went to the blue screen of death. But if you are not getting blue screens of death then it shouldnt be anything serious.

what graphic card are you using, that used to happen to me when the card was overheating and then the VPU recover activated, so the screen went blank, what system do you have anyway?

Compaq presario SR1620NX AMD Sempron 3400+
MSI AMETHYST-M
1024mbytes of ram kingston 199mhz
xtasy ati radeonx 300se 256mb pci express
250 watt power supply
xp sp2
catylists version 05.7
seagate 180gb

i once had a problem like this when i was using a very unstable power supply, ive also seen this happen on computers that were using the same brand of PSU. try using another psu if you can.
F.Y.I the brand of the PSU was Q-tec

Alright I figuerd out that all my problems is with my video card......
