Hi all,
I have exams coming up
and i've been doing some past papers. I have come accross a question and i can't do it, i've looked at the mark scheme and that doesn't tell you how to do it either so i'm wondering if one of you clever chaps might help me so here goes:
The system stores floating point numbers in normalised form using 2's complement, with an 8-bit mantissa and a 4-bit exponent. State the value of 1011 1110 0100 in denary if it represents a two's complement. floating point number.
The answer is -8.25 but i'd like to know how to get there.
Thanks
