Computer Randomly Freezing?

Hi,

Recently my computer has started to make a little click noise and then will soon freeze after. When it freezes is completely random and it sometimes even freezes when I'm starting it up.

Anyways, I reformatted my computer to hope that this thing would go away but it has not. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

Sounds like you have a dead hard drive. :(

Oh no. What can cause the hard drive to "die"?

I'm not sure exactly what you want so I'll just give you all that I know.

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow
Video Card: Radeon 98000 Pro
DirectX Version: DirectX 8.1

Like I said I don't really know what you guys want so if you tell me I would be happy to provide the information if possible.

Gonna need a mobo make and model and if possible the PSU make and model. BUt so far, id guess the problem exists either in RAM or PSU

Sorry for the slow reply. I've been on vacation. Well, I searched and this is what I found, I hope it's right. My PSU I think is an L&C Model: LC-A350ATX with a Total Output of 350W Max. I think my Mobo is a some sort of Soltek but I can't find what model it is.

That PSU is rated 12v@12a so im not surprised you're having issues with the system... using something like SpeedFan and RivaTuner watch your voltages and see if they are stable (but i still think a new PSU is in order).
