Computer Randomly Freezing

Well lately my computer has been freezing at random times, for instance ill just be downloading something and it will just freeze to where i cant move my mouse or anything, it doesnt make a buzz noise or anything it just freezes please help idk what it is

What hard drive is it installed on? Can you boot into safe mode and see if it freezes up?
 
You can boot in safe mode and if it doesn't freeze then you know its a software issue.

Let's see what you got running at bootup.

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Vista and Windows 7 users must right click on the hijackthis icon and click on run as. If the run as option doesn't appear then press and hold the shift key while right clicking on the icon to get it to appear.


Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

When the hijackthis log appears in a notepad file, click on the edit menu, click select all, then click on the edit menu again and click on copy. Come back to your reply and right click on your mouse and click on paste.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces

According to that none, but with windows 8 who knows. I'm assuming software though. Can you do a system restore back to a day before it was freezing?
 
uUnfortunately i cant, only have today listed. it might be a cpu problem we overclocked it to almost 4.0 and maybe that ruined it so i might just end up shipping it to my cousin who works at a computer place and replace it to see if that fixes it
 
Do you have an extra hard drive that you can do a fresh install of windows and see what happens?
 
actually i do ill try that

im using my old 200gb hd with windows 7 im going to mess around on the comp and see if it freezes and get back to ya

So pretty sure ive found the problem, i believe its my Solid state drive im going to exchange it for a new one tomorrow. I unhooked it along with my 1tb hdd and hooked up an old 200gb hdd and hasnt froze since then
