Computer Randomly restarts

Ive had this comp for a while, it was custom built and it just decides to restart when it wants to sometimes. You guys got any ideas to what it could be? it gets annoying.... thanks for the help
 
Well possible.

Memory going bad

Hard Drive going bad

OS is corrupt

and other problems.

List your PC specs and when the restarts happen. Could help narrow it down....when you reboot does it go to a blue screen and start showing a bunch of scans with 1-100%?
 
No blue screen. and its set to not automatically restart.

its got an nvidia 6800 gt
AMD 64 3200+ processor
1 gig of ram
what else you need to know?
 
oh, and it literally restarts when it wants to. as of right now, its about every time i start playing delta force : land warrior. yeah, its old school lol but pretty fun!
 
Follow these steps if you havent:
1. scan whole system with a good antivirus/internet security suite
2. Check for your BIOS mismatch
3. Correct power supply
4. check out whether all the fans are running
5. Remove and reinsert the RAM
6. Check for windows updates

I have found this to be an overheating problem of the cpu.
Make sure your fan(s) is working properly and you haven't got it clogged up with dust.
